Deep Ice Cooperative
A freestanding Soviet Martian ice extraction station on flat ground, organized around a squat octagonal sulfur-concrete wellhead drum. Its low conical metal roof has a central sealed drill penetration; a tall narrow dark-steel lattice mast rises from four supports outside the drum, with a fixed pulley head directly above the penetration. Offset the mast toward the rear of the overall composition. Two reused horizontal cylindrical landing tanks stand parallel on concrete saddles to the right of the drum, with dished ends, segmented silver insulation jackets and maroon retaining bands. A low barrel-roof service shed attaches to the drum's left side, its roof axis running front to back.
The shed's front has a worn circular aluminum docking collar containing a patched closed steel hatch, a locking wheel and a red triangular marker. Rough iron-red shielding protects its lower walls. Pipes connect the wellhead and tanks through a clearly visible raised U-shaped expansion loop supported on a short grated trestle. The rear has a compact pump housing with a guarded flywheel, rectangular radiator panels standing clear on an open frame, and bolted access covers. The right tank ends have valves behind protective cages; the left shed elevation has two small deeply inset windows and detachable metal cassettes. Dark steel, oxidized silver, coarse red aggregate and maroon repairs dominate; reserve cream paint for replacement panels. No exposed water, smoke, open trench or terrain dependence.
